Spike Songs

Spending too much time obsessing over BtVS, Spike, and the possibility of Spike and Buffy ever getting together, I've come up with a list of songs (click on the song to read the lyrics) that pertain or could be used in certain Buffy situations...

Since Drusilla dumped Spike, he was depressed for awhile. After he pampered and loved her, she ran off and cheated on him. Sheryl Crow's Anything But Down shows how Spikie may feel after having taken care of Dru for so long to only have her leave.

However, I do feel that Drusilla really did love Spike at one time, and that she's just a fickle sort of girl. If she ever came back wanting to get back together with him, a perfect song would be Fiona Apple's Criminal because it expresses the fact that Dru can "break a boy just because she can" and that she really did love him.

But onto Buffy and Spike.. yay! Cuteness arises if they ever got together. However, first they'd have to have that will-they-won't-they thing going on, in which Spike could be like Temptation Waits (Garbage), besides the fact that the "vampire" and "stake" lines are just TOO perfect, and Buffy could feel like Garbage's You Look So Fine in the realization that she is falling for Spike. And of course she is, "not like the other girls, that you used to know."

Then, they would have to get together at some point, right? That's why Sweet Surrender by Sarah McLachlan would be a good song from Buffy's point of view, as she fell even more for Spike. (I couldn't help capitalizing the "Are you an Angel?" bit.) And for Spike, he could show Buffy that he's not just the annoying vampire she sees him as with Sheryl Crow's The Difficult Kind

Since they bicker so much, Frank Sinatra's Be Careful, it's My Heart would be a nice theme song for those two.. and actually in a bit of a joking way, because after all, it's Spike - a vampire - we are talking about. And a heart? Yeah, well, still...

More Spike songs coming as soon as the 4th season starts!!!
